Got a new Boa

So, for months, I've been trying to convince the GF to get a new animal, although when we left in search of a new animal this morning I specifically said I don't want more snakes, I already have 3 and I wanted more of a lizard, like a chameleon or a Frilled dragon. Well after a day of searching for a frilled in our area, we found one, but someone bought it JUST as we showed up. So deflated from searching all day, we went to the pound to play with the cats and walk the dogs as we usually do. Well while we were there they had a snake, so I wanted to look at it. The tag said 8 yr old Ball Python, so I knew I wouldn't want it. But when I peaked in the cage I saw a juvenile Boa, I told them it was a Boa, then they said that they're sure their experts know more than me, to which I laughed.

So for giggles I asked how much they wanted, he said $30, so of course we jumped on it. The GF wanted it more than I did! it's shed is only partial so I've got her in a humid hide. I've already got a vet appointment scheduled for the next couple weeks once I can get some stool.

Anyway, to the point of this post. She doesn't look like my female does, I know Kaa is a BCC, but I'm not sure if this is a BCC with a different morph or maybe a BCI, but there's little to no red on the tail and she's a very dull color, even in the fresh shed parts. Well here are a couple pics if you guys could please take a look and lemme know. I just wanna make sure it's the same care as my current Boa.

Re: Got a new Boa

There are no BCC morphs, there were a few albino BCC, but from what I heard there were only a few animals found and they've all since died without reproducing. Your's looks like a BCI, I don't think it's a morph.

Congrats on the new boa. If they think that's an 8 year old ball python, it's time to revoke their "expert" licenses.

Re: Got a new Boa

Yea that's what I was thinking was a BCI.

Well last night she took 2 small mice so I'm glad she's eating, now for her 2 weeks of acclimation!

Keep an eye on their site for "especially large ball pythons" and you might score a $30 Anaconda. ;-)
