Good beginner Cham species?

I've been toying with getting into Chams but have held back because they seem a bit more fragile than I'm comfortable with. However, I have been thinking about it again recently. Can anyone suggest the best species for a beginner? I'm especially interested in the smaller or pygmy ones but my husband likes the really colorful ones.

Re: Good beginner Cham species?

One tip to make care a bit simpler is to get an automatic misting system. They like to be misted at least 3 times daily but most of us who work thats a tought schedule to maintain so an auto misting system makes things much easier. Also most chams like lots of ventilation so all screen enclosures are generally prefered. But they also require some humidity whish is hard to maintain in an all screen viv so a humidifier in the room is also a big help.

^ I second that. Charms are quite easy if you have the right setup: humidity, temps, UVB/UVA, water.... And a mist system takes all the worries out. I have 2 mist kings and they're the best product ever for high humidity animals. The basic mist king system is $99 and probably the best money you could spend on a Cham. Has 8 programmable settings (from 1 second to never ending), the basic pump can run 15 spray nozzles aswell.

I will go against everyone and say Panther!!! To further my point I will cite my 0 experience with veiled and the off hand talk that they can be mean when they're older, haha.

But seriously, Panthers should be in the running, My first was an ambilobe and now I have a nosy be and have only had problems with misters. DON'T BUY A REPTI FOGGER.

Thats fair panthers are a bit more sensitive but not as bad as some others. I love my exo terra monsoon personally as far as auto sprayers go.
