organic feeder mice and rats

hello my name is charity,
i am the loving caretaker for a five year old male ball python named mr. snortamus.
over the years i have wondered about the care and method of killing of the feeders that i feed my snake. some of the food i have bought looked like it had been beaten to death while others were scrawny and covered in lice or mange. is there a breeder that raises humanely and with organic food.
i am looking for organic well raised happy healthy food for my snake. as i have heard that the health of your snake depends on the health of their food.
i would appreciate any feed back on this subject.
thanks from beautiful BC.
charity and mr. snortamus
