I understand the money that goes into them myself and many others here have many animals we keep but you would have been better off to spent the money on hides rather then plants. They like a hiding place they dont need leaves and sticks.

You should definitely have at least 1 cool and 1 hot hide. Your snake would feel much more secure. Also what are you using for heat and temperature reading/control?

Good thing about hides are they are easy to provide and most likely free. Cardboard boxes are great. Granted I don't supply mine with EL-Ziggy - Jordan hides.

Re: new tank and decor :D

Its always warm in my apartment about 70 to 75 and his tank is right by a heater and at night i crack a window for temp drop.not for nothing kingsnakes and most snakes dont need an extra heat source and long and you have daylight throughout the day and dont have an ice cold house.he will get a hide later on in the week that is naturalistic looking not cardboard or fiction looking since my enclosure is more natural looking...and what did you mean by another one of these people ?

Re: new tank and decor :D

Hey, those weren't even my Jordans . I haven't bought myself any new shoes in about 2 years! They were my son's and I got them on sale for $40 . Notice how the box was constructively recycled? Nice right?!
Seriously though OP hides are critical. You've got a beautiful snake and an otherwise nice setup. Give your snake the best and throw a couple of hides in there. Doesn't have to be anything expensive either. I've used paper towel tubes, kids shoes and shoe boxes . We're only giving advice because we care not to be critical.

Re: new tank and decor :D

So why not a cardboard box until you can pick up some hides? And I meant another person who seems to refuse any advice.
