Another newbie ?

My beardie seems to squint alot and closes his eyes while basking (looking directly at heat lamp)? Is this normal? also he seems to be getting bored of crickets? All temps ect are fine (108-110) I have been training him to drink from a food syringe he seems to get alot of water this way? Oh yeah he is on paper towel in a 20g.

Thanks!

I am not sure about the eye thing but is he getting bored of crickets or losing his appetite?

Maybe you could try some other food options ? Does he eat salad?

Its actully quite normal for them to be doing that this early in the game eventually he'll get used to it and come around mine is still in that stage i've had him for about 3wks now and he's stratin' to come around and he's eating out of my hand and all. As for the getting bored of crickets I don't understand that but try mixing it up alittle bit give him salad foods dandelion greens, carrots, parsely, but NEVER feed him Spinach. As for the live prey keep feeding him dusted(calcium dusted) crickets, and you can feed him butterworms, wax worms, and mealworms for a bit of a treat. Plus what size is your BD anyways cause it could just be that the food is to big for him. If hes a new born 2-3months old he should only be on 1/2inch crickets. Anyways hope that helped you out. If you have anymore questions you can e-mail me memphis_raines89@hotmail.com.
