BRB lighting?

i am about to get a baby BRB and i am wondering what i should use for heating while i keep it in quarentine. i have a 10g glass tank with a screen lid which i am going to tape off to try and keep humidity up... i currently have a couple UTH i am not using and i also have heat lamps. as for bulbs i have incandescent day bulbs and one night bulb.

Get a plastic tub with lock down lid. Use the UTH. Never use heat light for baby BRB or other snakes that require high humidity because they dry the humidity up to fast. If you do use the glass tank cover the top to help keep the heat and humidity in. Also never use tape on or around snake cages. If the snake comes in contact with the tape it could end very horrible wrong. Tape around snakes is just not worth the risk.

Very good advice! Also control your uth or heat source with a thermostat.

i have the tape on the outside... there is zero sticky surface inside the tank. i just ran my hand smoothly over the underside of the screen lid. this is all just temporary while i make sure there are no health problems. also, i need a dry hide and moist hide i know... but which one goes where? do i put the dry hide in the hotter part of the tank, or the cooler part? do i put the water bowl over one of the UTH's?

This is the best advice you could possibly follow.

+1 for avoiding heat bulbs with this species.

Tape is still risky. If the snake manages to somehow come in contact with it, it may end badly. Clips or weights are far safer.

Try covering the screen top with custom-cut piece of plexiglass.

Hides can go on either side. Place the waterbowl partly over the heat, though, to promote evaporation.

thanks guys... ambient temps are around 80, humidity is about 75% and i have a moist hide over one of the UTH's

If it's a baby madness your gonna want your humidity a bit higher, good humidity for a baby is around 90%. Careful on your ambients. When you start approaching 83-85 degrees you can cook the poor little guy. Aim for ambients in the 70's with around 80 degree hotspot.
