What do I expect at expo?

I am going to toronto reptile expo this Sunday and I am not sure what to expect, really. It's my first time going there. I will be going alone. I just would generally like to have a feedback on your experience in the reptile expo. I am really looking forward to seeing some rare python or boa species.

Oh!! Do vendors usually take credit or visa? or should I be bringing cash if I am to get something.

The price is never solid! Negotiation is to be expected on your part!.. Expect a lot of people and a lot of ball pythons ... Cash is best in my experience. If there's a snake your looking for chances are it will be a lot cheaper there... Have fun! I love the shows.. Except the phoenix repticon. It seems to be like 14 venders every time.

I hope to see some atb haha. As much as i like ball pythons, I think it will be a bit boring if all I see is bp. I am not that huge fan of bps. haha

Ya ball pythons are more of a nuisance to me than anything. There's nothing wrong with the species, just what people have done with them... The last few shows Iv been to have been plagued with mutations to the point where I stopped looking at the animals and just left.

Re: What do I expect at expo?

Take cash and make low ball offers. All they can say is no. When they do, make a offer not much more then the original. If/when they say no again, give them your number and tell them to call you when they are ready to make a deal and walk away. They will call with their good price, play ball again. They would much rather sell it then haul it back. I'm in sales and this is 101 for just about anything. I love playing the sales game.

Take cash the vendors not charge tax. There is a lot of ball pythons. But there is a lot of other snakes and other reptiles to see. I will be there to.

Re: What do I expect at expo?

Most of the reptile shows in my area are boring because it's 95% ball pythons and 5% other common stuff. I agree with taking cash, although I usually just use the ATM once I'm at the expo if they have one onsite. There are some venomous expos, too.

I wonder what the best expo in North America for species diversity is?

I wouldnt low ball, that could insult them and they will be harder to negotiate with, but thats just my opinion, i bring cash, but most will accept a card as well.
