Today I gave him a medium live one and after it went by his head several times he grabbed it. After he swallowed it and and it was resting down in his stomach for a few minutes he opened his mouth really wide and began squirming and forcing the rat up until it was out of him. I don't know why he is acting this way, he's always had a great feeding response. If you have any insight please respond I'm wicked worried about him.
Thank you.

That is definitely not good!!! A lot can cause a snake to regorge, unfortunately none of it is really good. Depending on where you live a lot of snakes go off of food for winter, especially depending on age. Winter is breeding season for many species as well as a drastic change in barometric pressure really kind of throws the snake for a loop. Only about 1/3 of my collection is eating currently but i am in Michigan and the weather has been very up and down.
I would make sure your boa has good clean water (and lots of it) and then just let him be for 5 or 6 days. Regurging takes a lot out of the animal and they need to recoup. IF you notice any weird behavior in those few days its to the vet ASAP!.
As long as he is in good condition body weight wise, i would wait at least 2 if not 3 more weeks before offering food. These animals are very very hearty and going a month or month and a half without eating is nothing to them. My mochino male hasn't eaten since the last week of Sept and has bred for me and is completely fine (he is refusing meals). He hasn't lost any body weight and I am not worried. As long as your animal isn't visibly losing weight i wouldn't worry about the refusal.
Are you sure he is okay mouth rot/RI/health wise as well? Im not accusing you of missing something with your animal, just covering the bases.
