Anyone ever seen this? Strange

I've never seen a snake eating a hotdog before. Saw this guy for sale on Craigslist tonight.

Re: Anyone ever seen this? Strange

I imagine that if was scented with a pinkie, you could get a hungry snake to eat it fairly easily. That said, I'm not sure that the nitrates and nitrites along with all the other "stuff" in a hot dog would not be very good for the health of the snake.

Yeah Jim, but I believe that the "stuff" in hotdogs is the only thing you have to worry about. By that time, Nitrates and Nitrites aren't even a concern. LOL!!!!

Re: Anyone ever seen this? Strange

Wasn't there some kind of "snake weiner" food thing sold by T-Rex products a few years back? I seem to remember something like that....

Oh...and yes. Very weird.

I didn't think about the scenting with a pinkie. Good point.

Yes there was, but it never caught on. I've had a Hognose eat a hard boiled egg and some of my snakes have eaten chicken legs and stripes of chicken breast.

Re: Anyone ever seen this? Strange

I have seen this before, it might indeed be one of those 'snake' hotdogs.. Who knows, weird thing to feed to a snake anyway. I would be worried about conservatives and added sugars and who knows what cr*p is in those things, i don't even eat them myself. Some snakes aren't that picky though, i have heard of some of them eating weird things like pig feet, chicken necks, hearts, filets, beef strips, eggs. Strangest things i've fed my snakes for me, was a fish to a retic. (Was amazed it actually ate it, even seemed to like it, that poop though )

Re: Anyone ever seen this? Strange

For some reason thinking about a snake eating a chicken wing, just makes me laugh.. Sounds so silly.
