Beautiful photos of gorgeous snakes! I especially like the next to the last snake with it's bright yellow coloration. While I would never keep hots myself, I can certainly appreciate the beauty of these fantastic animals. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful rattlers. Nice diversified collection. Could I make a suggestion? When you label pictures, please add the the common names as well. Many people don't know the scientific names for snakes and it can make them feel left out.

Thank you! Lol. This is something that I wish everyone would do. It's always a process bouncing back and forth between forums and Google. If you list a common name, it makes learning the scientific names easy because in a short while you starting putting one and two together all on your own.

Beautiful snakes man. I wish I was in an area that had hot keepers to gain experience and laws that would keep it in reach for the working man.

I can add comon names next time..learning and using the scientific names for venomous snakes is very import because most venomous snakes have multiple names that include the same names as others So say your are bitten it's important to let the medical staff know the exact species by Latin name cas all snakes only have one Latin name. so that way you get the write antivenin... Jim smith, the yellow on is called a Great Basin rattlesnakes. IW17, the way I look at it is if you don't know what the snake is to began with and all there is is the Latin name, then Learn that as it's name just like you normally would with the comon name. It's always best knowing the Latin name

I agree. But seeing both a familiar name and the scientific name together makes it so when you see either in the future, you start to automatically associate one with the other. For instance if I put water python (liasis fuscus), the next time I see liasis fuscus I'll remember it's association with its common name. When I have to jump back and forth looking up different species, a lot of the names get mixed up due to sheer volume. Now if it's a species that I'm unfamiliar with, then just learning it's scientific name is much easier, because it's all I know. Just my opinion from my personal experience.

That being said, you have a very good collection of rattlers. I look forward to seeing more. Always nice to see such a great collection of beautiful, healthy animals!

IW17, I defanitly understand what your saying....I usually do put both names but because I had a small amount of time I just went with the Latin name.

Joshchimera, thank you, and I have lots more to share. I actually had 27 pictures but I was only aloud to load 8...if any one has as specific north American rattlesnake a they would like to see I can post pictures if I have it, I have only a few neo tropical Species.
