Two Pairs

So yesterday I decided to pair up two pairs of King Snakes.
They locked and remained that way for in excess of 3 hours, I did not however take note of the exact times.
I took some pics but the phone flash washed them out.

Pair 1: Male Striped CalKing x Female Abberant Amel CalKing

Pair 2: Male CalKing x Female CalKing

An interesting bit of nonsense about these two pairs.

I paired the Normal Striped and the Aberrant Albino in 2011 and got a fully fertile clutch of eggs, throwing out Amel, Normal, Normal Striped, Amel Striped and Amel Abberant, sadly no Normal Abberant.

In 2013 I paired an Amel Striped to the Amel Abberant - Result, not a single egg.

In 2013 I paired the Normal Striped to a Normal Striped - Result, not a single egg.

In 2011 I paired the Amel Stripe to the Normal Stripe - Result, not a single egg.

Should this Normal Striped x Amel Abberant produce a fertile clutch again, I will have proved two things.
My Amel Striped is infertile and my Normal Striped is non ovulatory.

Regards the normal pair, they did not produce anything last year, despite me having seen 2 visual locks.

These same two pairs locked again this passed weekend for the second time.

An interesting observation is that where Corn Snakes lock normally for a time period of 20 minutes to 60 minutes, King Snakes lock for anywhere between 4 Hours and 12 Hours.

I also took a rather unclear pic of the renowned King Snake Love Bite. The pic is of poor quality due to it being taken with my Mobile, and me not wanting to disturb them too much.

Sadly, nothing came of these pairings. Oh well, I will just try again this coming season.
