Seed Germination for heat pad

I am getting ready to buy a new heat pad. Just wondering if anyone has tried using a seed germination heat pad for heat in their enclosures. I have found one that says it heats up to 10-20 degrees above ambient temps. I would use a temp probe regardless but how does it know what to heat to? And is there any reason not to use it.

Re: Seed Germination for heat pad

We had a thread on this last year, and at there were at least a few who said that they used them just fine and there were no negative comments. I think as long as you use a temp gun to fine tune it it will work great. I personally dont have one in an enclosure, but I've got a very large one under my dog house during the winter.

Thanks for the response. I will be buying one soon I believe. I will have it connected to a herpstat.
