Tubs & Humidity
I set my snow bull snake Apollo up in a tub exactly two months ago. I thought everything was fine. After reading recently on the forum about how tubs retain humidity I decided to invest in a digital hygrometer and I'm glad I did. The humidity in the tub was reading 80%. The humidity in the house was only 55%. I drilled several more holes in the tub but it was still the same this morning. Is there anything else I can do to bring the humidity in the tub down? I've got two rows of 7 holes on each side of the tub and at least ten small holes in the top. Will the prolonged exposure to such high humidity harm my snake? The care sheets call for 40-50% humidity. He's fairly active, eats well, has had 2 perfect sheds and is growing well. My three other snakes are in tanks and their humidity was in the 50-60% range. Any tips or advice?
