Re: Snake falling n hurting itself

I don't know, but my snakes keep endeavoring to find out for me.

(Don't take pictures of a kingsnake on the kitchen island, because they may just decide to suddenly try going off the edge for reasons only they understand...)

I can't give an absolute answer because many factors come into play. Just like you can fall off a roof and be fine, and then trip over your foot and break an arm. I wouldn't be too concerned about a fall from an elevated position inside an enclosure, but a fall from say shoulder height could absolutely be hazardous under the right circumstances.

No guarantee either way but that height definitely could cause injury. I would avoid that for sure. If your asking because it already happened, just watch your snake for unusual behavior. Odds are it's OK, but better safe than sorry. Vet bills are expensive, and only get costlier the longer you wait and the worse the condition gets.

I wouldn't offer too much climbing space for a species that isn't at least semi arboreal.
