Yes it is normal. My Honduran has a pink spot still on the first band over her head where it isn't actually white yet.

Honestly I am not sure, i think its red eyes . But normally they appear black but under light they have reddish look . why, does it matter? i mean does the color of eyes determine other features?

Re: Question: Leucistic Texas Rat snake

Cosmicowl i just read about what does eye color means in taxes rat snakes, red means he is albino and blue means he leucistic . I been planning to buy a leucistic texas rat snake for a while but i read about bug eye problem and aggression problem so I decided not to take a chance ordering one online but instead i waited for the expo . The breeder had few of these and i picked the one most docile and with least bug eyes. At that moment his eyes seemed blue. Next day when i woke up i checked up on him and the terrarium light ( exo terra daylight lamp) made his eyes look bit reddish when he was close to the lamp or facing the lamp( but nothing close to some i seen on google images) . But antways ill post his pics here tonight or tom and hopefully you guys can tell me if he is a true leucistic or not and what do you think about his eyes. I really hope he is a true leucistic but i guess it doesnt matter much now cause i absolutely love him

Re: Question: Leucistic Texas Rat snake

Red eyed leucistic rat snakes are both leucistic and albino. They also keep a bit of pink tone from what I understand.

Blue eyes. That's only leucistic, but still a very beautiful snake. It's only a little pink because it is young. As it ages it will become solid white.

Re: Question: Leucistic Texas Rat snake

Leucistic Texas rat has been on my "must have" list for a while. I have a pure black snake, why not white? Lol

Beautiful snake you have. I agree with CosmicOwl, he should become whiter as he ages.
