Peaceful evening

Took a shot with blue lights. All my snakes are hiding and it just looked like moonlight.

Sorry, a little blurry.

Thanks Jim! Yeah, actually, I have led rgb light strips in all the enclosures. It's just a matter of pushing buttons on the remote control to change to desired color.

Re: Peaceful evening

That looks awesome. Got me thinking, are there any snakes that fluouresce under UV?

Re: Peaceful evening

So far as I know, no snakes fluoresce under specific lighting.

Just to make a note, while blue light gives a nice moonlit effect, the brightness of it more closely replicates the brightness of a full moon, which will generally discourage nocturnal species from emerging, as they are exposed and not hidden by the darkness as they usually are. Several zoos (including Moody Gardens) have been experimenting with the lighting systems in nocturnal exhibits and are finding that nocturnal species are generally very reclusive and stressed under blue light, and when switched to red or amber lighting they become much more active. Conversely, diurnal species will often become more likely to be out and about at night with blue lighting.

Re: Peaceful evening

Great set-ups Steve. Looks like a great place to sit, watch and enjoy for hours on end. Very tranquil.

Thanks EZ! The moonlight effect is more for me than the snakes.

Re: Peaceful evening

I can't wait to have one designated snake room like that brother. I want snakes on all 4 sides and me in the middle
