For those who ship snakes

I have a buyer for my Tangerine Hypo Honduran Milk Snake however, I need to ship the snake from Georgia to Alabama. I have an insulated shipping container with the plastic "tub" to ship the snake in. I have access to FedEx Express 2 day shipping and I want to find out if this is okay to ship a live animal? Any recommendations you can provide is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I would not go with two day shipping. Overnight for sure. Depending on temperature you may also need to include a cool pack.

Agreed. Especially because it is fairly close.

Re: For those who ship snakes

There is a process you go through to get an account with FedEx that allows you to ship snakes overnight. Just call FedEx and they can point you in the right direction. Always ship snakes overnight, the least amount of time the snake is in the shipping box, the better.

For one time shipment I would use these companies. Has to be overnight. Buyer pays or split between you. Whatever you decide.

Agree with them ^^.

As already mentioned. You have to be certified when shipping live animals with Fedex. When using those companies that Mikoh mentioned helps work around the certification since those companies are already certified.

Two day is a very bad idea. Use SYR and follow guidelines, you may need a cool pack unless you live near a hub and drop off late or pick a cold day at both destinations.

Re: For those who ship snakes

Thank you all for your recommendations. I will use the SYR services and I have a FedEx drop-off near the house so I can drop it off in the late afternoon.

Thanks again.
