What is this?
I know absolutely zero about snakes. But a few of these have been slithering around in my garden. Live in the Denver metro area. I am not concerned by them but my wife is freaking out. So far they are not very big, maybe 12" in length and 1/2" diameter. I am more curious just to see what exactly it is, then I could probably calm my wife down. LOL

Re: What is this?
I'm really not sure, the picture is small and fuzzy... but the only thing that seems to make sense is a Garter Snake, Western Terrestrial Garters should be native to the Denver area. Any chance you have a better shot? Or maybe you could upload to picture to photobucket and link it, it will be much bigger and hopefully clearer that way.

Re: What is this?
Not sure what species it is but it is certainly NOT venomous! Remember, a snake in the grass is a good thing!

Re: What is this?
Hello fellow Coloradan, it's not venomous. The only thing around here that is are Prairie Rattlers. That fellow is harmless, if a bit stinky.

Re: What is this?
I'd also call that a western terrestrial garter.

Was worth a shot. I'm still very curious about seeing a better shot, maybe it will let you pm a link?
