Bob clark
I know he is a big name in the business but how are the snakes he produces? Are they good quality? Anyone here buy from him? Are smaller breeders better to go with even though the price is comparable?

Re: Bob clark
I've got... several from him, 2 or 3 maybe? They're good quality and have been as billed. I've spoken with him a number of times and he's a little snobby, but he's brilliant and he's fixed his quality issues that he was having a few years back. I like to refer to him as the Bobfather, he's kinda the godfather of retics.

Re: Bob clark
Don't have any snakes from him (although i almost had a boa from him, but some german snatched it before my eyes...). Some love him (even adore) and others not so, but imho his snakes look in good condition.
Friend of me bought a boa 2 years ago, which died after a couple of days and Bob gave another one. Not sure what the reason of the death was btw...

Re: Bob clark
ive heard a few horror stories regarding his exports to the UK.....
shipping hatchlings straight out the egg, yolk sacks not yet fully absorbed
had a friend wh had 2 out of 3 snakes die within days of recieving them and Bob telling him as long as he keeps quiet about the deaths, the snakes would be replaced.sometimes even upgraded to a more expensive snake
i'm NOT a fan of Bob
cheers shaun

Re: Bob clark
I have no personal experience with him but everyperson iI know personally that's purchased from him had a bad experience. Either mites, respiratory infection, or some other nasty. Not to mention his prices are astronomical. These days there are so many small time breeders who still put a lot of love and care into each and every animal they sell, it's hard to justify spending top dollar on a big business breeder. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Bob clark
My animals were all reasonably priced, I actually got decent deals on them below market value and all were healthy.

Re: Bob clark
How did the animal arrive? Curious since the only animal i ever bought from bob had some issues and died within 5 months after purchase. (Never even took it out of quarantine because of the odd behavior, twitched its head every few seconds) And in this country people either adore him, or swear never to want any animal bred by him. There has to be some truth behind it.

Re: Bob clark
She arrived in a little knapsack surrounded by paper with a heat pack. She has eaten 2 times since I've had her and pooped once. I've handled her a few times and she gets a little pissy but that's a typical baby retic. My only issue is her size. She was born on 7/5 so that's less than a month. Never had a snake this little but shes eating and seems to be doing well
