Adding new species to the Lacey Act

I'll try to make this short since they seem to have limits on how much you can put for a first post, but they are adding new species of snakes to the lacey act, including boa constrictors(I'm guessing they're referring to red tails, hog island etc), retics, african rock pythons and a couple species of anaconda.

Apparently they are seeking public opinion on the proposed law. I don't know how much weight they put on these comments but I think it's worth a shot and I thought I'd post the link here for anyone interested in submitting a comment.

Re: Adding new species to the Lacey Act

From my understanding, the FWS never closed the rule, so new species can be added at any time. And right now, they are trying to add BCI/BCC, 2 more anacondas, as well as retics. Shame that a problem that only affects a small part of Southern Florida is going to affect our entire country...
