Help ID my snake please?
I recently purchased this snake from a local pet store and I was told that she was an Irian Jaya Carpet Python...but based on all the google searches I've done this looks more like a Jungle Carpet Python. What do you experienced members have to say about it? She is black and yellow throughout.
Also on a side note this snake is approximately 3 feet, a great eater, and female...I paid $250 is that a reasonable price? No regrets at all but just want to know if I got ripped off by pet store prices.
Thanks for any info you guys can provide!

Re: Help ID my snake please?
Can you post a few more/ better pictures? Congrats on your new snake! Carpet pythons are great. You are going to have fun with her. Many Irian Jayas are crossed with jungle carpets to impart a genetic morph referred to as "jaguar" into the Irian Jaya locality. These are sold as "siblings" and often wind up in pet stores. That's not to say yours is not 100% IJ- honestly you may never find out. The colors vary quite a bit. Mikoh has an IJ with starker yellows than many jungles. Regardless, awesome looking snake.

Looks a lot like a Jungle but could potentially be a cross, it has the jungle head pattern as well. It's not a pure IJ for sure.

Pure Irian Jayas have the same head patterns. The snake could very well be a pure. More pics could help, but he may never know for sure. Even pure 100% specific localities of carpet pythons can contain mixed blood. It's not always straight forward with these guys.

What everybody else has said, lol. Looks Jungle like, but could be a mix, could be pure. Without lineage info, you won't know 100%. Beautiful, nonetheless. Carpets are great, $250 at a pet store for a carpet isn't too bad.

Looks very much like a jungle but like everyone else has said it could be a mix and no one would be able to tell you 100% what that is. It is a great looking carpet nonetheless.

Re: Help ID my snake please?
Looks like a jungle to me, very similar to two of ours. Although, reading the previous posts, maybe there's some crossing going on. Having said that, if you've been sold it as an Irian Jaya, you probably need to go back and ask the question.
