Live mice (food question)

I have a Ball Python named Caesar. I picked him up from the pet store a little over a week ago. They fed him every Monday and said they haven’t had the chance to convert him from live to frozen mice. All of the pet store close to me only sell frozen. I ended up giving Caesar a live pinkie because he wasn't interested in the frozen one at all. I was wondering in your opinions should I continue to feed him live mice. If no what is the best way to get him to eat frozen mice?

I would definitely encourage transitioning to f/t. Some snakes can be a little stubborn but most will make the switch. Sometimes you just have to wait them out. You can also try scenting or braining the f/t item.

Try wiggling it around as if it's moving, also f/T mice obviously are not as warm as live so thaw it in water that might warm it up enough, not hot but warm

You might also consider a gradual transition of going from live to freshly killed to F/T. This sometimes works when other methods fail. Just a thought...

He should be eating something quite a bit bigger than a pinky mice. Baby BPs can usually be started on fuzzy rats. They'll move around a bit more than pinkies and aren't as dangerous as the equivalent sized mouse.

I picked up two live hoppers and a frozen one and I'm going to attempt the transition over the next few weeks.
