dubia roaches

So I just recently added 3k baby nymphs to my colony. Im assuming in the next 6 months this colony is really going to be booming. So im here to ask does anyone know a recipe to make roach chow in bulk? Ive seen varies ideas from people but it seems to me like they're wasting their money on a lot of useless stuff. Basic information from what ive been told is find a decent cat/dog food with high protein grind it up and let them go at it.
any advice?

Re: dubia roaches

My advice is to stay away from dog or cat food. They we too high in protein for roaches and it can cause problems as a result. If you want to just use something remade, go with chicken layer feed. It's a good protein percentage (about 17-18%) and high in calcium and other minerals.

I'm really not sure, but I wouldn't be cheap if I could avoid it. Remeber that what you feed the feeders, the better they are for your animal. My favorite part of raising my own feeders is because I can improve the quality of food.

Re: dubia roaches

For my hissers and dubias I make a mix of carrots, romaine, kale, iceberg lettuce, fish food, crushed cat food (very small amount), bread, peas, corn, and broccolii. I mix whatever i have in the house at the time basically and then freeze it. Always wash off your food before you prepare it for your roaches. This works very well if everything is chopped up finely, my roaches love it.
