Who else talks to their snakes?

Alright, it's time to fess up. Who else out there talks to their snakes, especially when handling them or it's feeding time.? Whenever I take one of my snakes out for handling, I find myself talking to them tell them how good they look or how big they're getting etc. I know that they can't hear me and I'm not one of the people who believes my snakes have feelings towards me or that they actually like to be held. That said, I still talk to them every time I pick them up and I find it hard to believe that I'm the only nut-job herper out there

Fess up people. It will make you feel so much better. I'll start. My name is Jim and I talk to my snakes.

All the time. Even when he isn't out and he is roaming around in his viv and looking out the glass doors

Re: Who else talks to their snakes?

Oh yeah, I talk to them all the time. I talk to wild snakes and just about everything else I find when herping too. Frogs, insects, spiders, birds, etc. I've even caught myself talking to the trees. Really I'm just giving voice to my thoughts. But I'm sure if anyone snuck up on me they'd think I was a loon.

I wholeheartedly admit.....I talk to my snakes......though admittedly more towards my sand boas and my Hognose, because they're just too darn cute

Lol same here.

I do have long conversations with my tortoise though. She tells me all about her day and I tell her all about mine. She can actually talk I swear

Re: Who else talks to their snakes?

I don't really talk to them, but occasionally when I'm doing cage maintenance in my BCI's enclosure or trying to get him out and he acts like he's going to bite I'll call him a name or something along those lines, haha.

Re: Who else talks to their snakes?

I talk to them but usually only when I'm frustrated with them like if I'm trying to get them back in their cage or trying to take pictures and they won't sit still.

All the time. Even though they don't hear I firmly believe animals can sense your state of mind. Talking to them is a good way to keep yourself mellow and give out good vibes, without sounding to hippyish lol.
