What type of snake is this?

NE Florida about 15mins from the beach.

Yellow Rat Snake. Harmless. But they do like chicken eggs lol.

yes it should be fine. they eat the mice in the barn, not the chicken eggs.

Oh they do eat eggs. A lot of Rat Snake keepers offer eggs occasionally. We raised chickens and quail when I was a kid and I caught plenty of Rat Snakes "red handed" eating or having just eaten eggs. That said they do eat a lot more rodents than eggs. They do a lot more good than harm, "paying" them with an occasional egg is a fair deal for the services they provide imo.

Exactly. Down south they're called chicken snakes for a reason. I've found many in my family's chicken coops that fit through the chicken wire on the way in, but couldn't make it out due to the egg bulge.
