Herp trip 5/25/2014
Went herping at LBJ Grasslands near Decatur Texas and found a couple cool herps.
Young Broad Banded Copperhead
Another Copperhead: Couldn't tell for sure if this guy was a broad banded or southern. We have both in this area. Could even be an inter-grade.
Great Plains Narrow Mouthed Toad:

Thanks guys! I think they are beautiful snakes! So camouflaged in leaf litter. They just disappear.

Cool finds. I still need to find a herping spot near me... All I have is Nerodia and that gets old.

Yeah awesome place to explore. There's over 20,000 acres! I've been 3 times and haven't even scratched the surface! lol Great night road cruising as well.

Re: Herp trip 5/25/2014
I love the Copperhead pics Steve! Thanks for sharing! I went on a hike on the 25th too. All I found were some 5 lined skinks, and got chiggers and poison ivy!!
