Truck Load of Venom
I got a call from an State Trooper that he was on his way to me with a truck full of venom. It turned out they rescued 8 venomous snakes and were headed my way with them. When they arrived they said there was one enclosure that they could not see the snake. It turned out that the snake must have escaped out the original location and was loose in the house. It was a Broad Eye Viper. There was no way it got loose in their truck, as they had duct taped the lid and taped cardboard over the screen tops to make sure nothoing escaped or no one got bit. Here is what I received.
Cotton Mouth
Speckled Rattlesnake
Banded Rock Rattlesnake
Dusty Pygmy Rattlesnake
Gaboon Viper
Albino Western Diamondback Rattlesnake
Mangrove Pit Viper

Re: Truck Load of Venom
Wow! I really like the looks of the Albino Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. So do you keep all of these permanently?

Yes, I will keep them. I did give the Cotton Mouth to a friend who has a venomous license.

Beautiful animals! You're really lucky that you got them free, and they are lucky that they found their way to you and are in good hands!

You got it. You would be one of the few that I would feel confident to let have one.

Re: Truck Load of Venom
I like the little speckled. I also thought it was funny that they are all using petco adverts as bedding. :-)

Re: Truck Load of Venom
Cool collection of crotalids(and one true viper lol). What happend that they ended up with you? No permits( I'm guessing you're in a state that requires permits or license)? Whatever the case glad they ended up with you.
I really like the looks of the speckled. Makes me want to rethink my "I don't need another hot right now" mentality. Haha.
the dusky Pygmy just reminds me of yet another failure to see one in the wild yesterday herping.lol.

The father got cancer and the daughter took the snake and left them in here attic over the winter waiting for them to starve to death. They were taken away for cruelty to animals.
