What to get next?
Hey guys so I have room and space and time to get another reptile and there are so many that I wish I could have, but I want some suggestions to. I have a good amount of reptile experience at this point(far from an expert though)and am looking for something that can be docile. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I say don't get a reptile for the sake of getting another reptile. You'll know when you find a species you are really interested in.

Re: What to get next?
If you're interested in snakes with beautiful colors that get to a respectable size and have great temperaments, then you should certainly consider Honduran Milk Snakes. When they're very small, they' can be a little wild (squirmy and thrashing around when you handle them) but they calm down fairly quickly. Very easy to care for and they make wonderful reptile pets. Here's a website where you can see just some of the color morphs available. » The Lampro Blog: Honduran Milksnakes - Herp Nation Media

The next purchase is only going to be as big as your wallet says lol, but it's all about what your interested in, I wouldn't go out and buy something just to buy it. Buy an animal that you have a passion for

One of my favorite sites Jim! Amazing Hondo colors and morphs! I would also suggest a Black Milk snake. Very docile, males can get up to 7 feet!,eat well and don't require warm enclosure temps.Brightly colored until about 2 to 3 years old then start to turn completely black. So many great animals to choose from.

Re: What to get next?
As always, Drum. Lol if you like carpets, I'd go with a jungle. They're beautiful and stay small enough. Babies are nippy but will tame down. Good luck and welcome.

Re: What to get next?
They are also (almost always) monster feeders, you won't have to worry too much.

Re: What to get next?
Ask yourself what are you interested in? There's gotta be something in peticular you'd like to own.
Altough I can attest to how awesome carpets are. I've got a little coastal female that is just the coolest.

I agree with this. It took me a year to find the snake I really wanted, a BRB, and I lucked into it at my local reptile store! Find what kind of snake/reptile you really like and hold out for that one. I was looking into a Jungle Carpet too and, as luck would have it, found one with a complete set up on CL for $100. Hopefully going to get it this weekend I suggest doing lots of research on what you think you want and go from there.

Re: What to get next?
I have a few carpets and my coastal is definitely the most docile, just an awesome animal. I have an Irian Jaya and what I think is a jungle mix, and the coastal has never once tried to nip at me, the other two have. Also the coastal is gorgeous. The jungle mix is the most arboreal out of the three though, so go jungle if you like them to be on display more. The jungle mix seems to be ALWAYS looking for food, the other two a bit more mellow of a feeding response.
Boas can be a similar adult length as carpets, but are SOOO much heavier bodied. So the boa will seem much larger even though it is the same length. My boa has a great feeding response as well. They are different for handling as well, the boa clings to me like she is going to hold on forever, the carpets are more content to slither through my hands and on my arms, the boa just won't let go for nothing. Both very nice choices. In the end you can only go with which one you like the look of the most, and the one you can afford, bot the animal and its habitat and food.
