Re: Didn't know how intelligent Honey Badgers were

WOW! I knew that they were tough, but I had no idea that they are that intelligent. I've worked with people that aren't that smart. They also happen to be pound for pound probably the toughest animal in Africa. They'll chase a leopard or hyena away from their dens and the are almost immune to venomous snakes. They'll attack a cobra or puff adder and start eating it alive even when they have been bitten. If it's a serious bite, they fade off to sleep for a while and as soon as they wake up they resume eating the snake. Very tough little critters.

Re: Didn't know how intelligent Honey Badgers were

They're a member of the mustelids family: weasels, ferrets, otters, wolverines, minks, etc... They're an extremely smart group of animals. I like to think of them as the mammalian equivalent of varanids. Smart, extremely keen predators, great at making burrows, etc..

A really cool relative to the badger is a least weasel. They're the size of a mouse and feed mainly on rabbits. Rabid little balls of cuteness.
