Hognose not eating

My male hognose hasn't eaten since January. I tried braining and scenting but he's not interested. He is still active and looks healthy and his setup has not changed since he stopped eating.
My female has also not eaten the past two weeks so I just assumed it was that time of the year that some hognoses stop eating.
However he has gone from 60g to 58g so I want to see if there is anything else I should be trying to get him to eat.
Thanks for your help

Re: Hognose not eating

Never had one but it's not uncommon for snakes to go 2 or 3 months without eating

This will definitely cause unnecessary stress. And even if the snake strikes I doubt it would be out of feeding response.

Re: Hognose not eating

Wow, that's the worst thing i've ever heard to get a snake to eat :O That will make the snake strike stressed out, not make it think of food..

Re: Hognose not eating

So is the weight loss not a problem? Should I just keep watching his weight and hope he eats soon?
