Re: Introducing Vera - O. p. laticincta
She is an Oreocryptophis porphyraceus laticincta or sometimes called the Broad Banded Mountain ratsnake. They are a cousin to the O. p. coxi that we also have a few of. Those are sometime called Red Mountain Racers or Thai Bamboo ratsnakes. There are a handful of subspecies and the common names seem to be used fairly interchangeably, so you also need to know the scientific names as well.

Jealous.
Plan on picking up some Oreocryptophis porphyraceus in July. We'll see what subspecies is available.

So gorgeous! I'll have to pass these on to my friend who loved the o.p. coxi pictures! (He's a huge fan of red and black lol)

What a beautiful little snake! I love the colors and the head markings are so distinctive almost looks painted on. Please keep us in photos as she grows up.

I can't speak for everyone... But for me personally, that is an impossibility!
