How long have you had this snake?

Posting pics of setup and details of the enclosure will help.

ive had him for almost 8 months. He was the little "rescue". Went to the pet store to get something for the turtles and some guy was demanding they take the snake. They said no so he said he was gonna dump turbo on the side of the road outside the store (highway).
I took him in, tried to find a home for him but no one wanted him so I kept him.

I cant post photos.
20gL
Lotssss of fake plants.
Gray fake rock water bowl.
Humid hide woth moss.
Substrate. Eco earth
Multiple hides
Hot side at 87 (bottom)
Cool side at 76
Humidity at 51

All the snakes temps and humidty and set up are roughly the same. They all get fed the same day.

Re: black rat wont eat

Why can't you post pics?

The only thing I can take from that is that he can't get to the heat somehow, or the hotspot is too hot, or he has some kind of virus/parasite. I can't think of other reasons for regurgitation. What are you using for the heat source? Is it on a Thermostat?

I just dont know how he could have gotten a virus or parasite out of absolutely no where. None of them go outside. And he always borrows on the hot side. Or hes in the hide on the hot side.
Heat pad on a thermostat.
I ise a thermometer on both sides to measure heat.

And my laptop doesnt allow me too. Chromebook

I would think that if you could post to facebook, you should be able to post to imgur/photobucket? Or you could post a pic to facebook and then insert into a post on this site(right click the image, select "copy image location" and then and paste into the field that pops up when you select "insert image" when you are creating a post).

It's hard for people to speculate on the exact cause of the snake's regurgitation without examining the animal. However, it seems strange that the snake would already look skinny if it had only regurgitated one meal. A snake shouldn't lose much weight from missing one or two meals. I don't want to offer blind speculation, but is it possible the issues are related to something else, like a RI or maybe exposure to a cleaning product or deodorizer?

If you have pics on facebook(or anywhere else on the internet), you can right click on an image and copy image url then paste it between this code(without all the spaces)

Photobucket works great. Upload pics to Photobucket and copy link to pic and paste as mikoh mentioned.

Re: black rat wont eat

You might want to try dropping your temps a little bit. I haven't been able to find much that recommends keeping them above 80-85 degrees. I keep my gray rat snake's warm side at around 81-84 degrees and he eats, poops and sheds fine. He's also very active.

Re: black rat wont eat

I Found a vet. Took him yesterday.
She can't pinpoint what it is.
She tried to force feed him a frozen/thawed pinkie i had brought with me.
He wanted nothing to do with it.
He kept spitting it out.
Also noticed the inside of his mouth is gray when it's normally pink.
Could this be from regurgitating?
She said to bump the temperature up to 90 degrees to help with his immune system.

She wants me to check back with her in a month to see if anything has improved.

I want to take him to another vet. I feel like she didnt hlp much and im really worried about him.

Re: black rat wont eat

I'm not sure how you expect people to give you accurate advice if you wont post pictures of your setup or snake.
