Smd 3528 8mm connector ?
I'm looking for a connector that I don't have to solder for 8mm waterproof led strip.
I want to find a connector/adapter similar to the pigtail in the picture to connect to led strip without soldering. Any ideas?

Re: Smd 3528 8mm connector ?
did you try emailing the sender to see if they have extra connectors? jw, we were going to do that as well, since we didn't use all of ours in the tanks, either...

Re: Smd 3528 8mm connector ?
I want to connect the led strip to a female 4 pin IR controller if that makes sense. So many connectors!

Here's the suppliers resonse:
Hello,
Thank you for your purchase and for your message.
Unfortunately we do not have any connectors for the pieces of strip that have been cut.
Regrettably I am not sure where to find them either.
Very sorry

Lol, this may be a good opportunity to go at it!
It's quite easy, and I bet there are YouTube instructional vids out there.

Somehow I knew you were going to suggest that. I may grab some connectors and give it a try. Awfully small contacts on the 8mm led strip lol

assuming that the top wire, is the one that you need to plug it into, you need a Male connector...look for a connector which has 4 pins sticking out of it, then check the full description to make sure that the connector is designed to go into an RGB LED controller, and the other connector is for 8mm RGB LED strip - then it will work fine.

Re: Smd 3528 8mm connector ?
Formica, how do the connectors attach to the led contacts? Do they push on or use little set screws etc?
It's amazing how far lighting has come along in recent years isn't it? I really like led lighting.

they literally just clamp on, it comes as a single piece which folds over and clips, pushing the connectors against the contacts on the LED strip, depending on the type, a little silicone is useful to seal it once its installed (not necessary with a sealed false ceiling tho) - using a clamp connector means the LED strip can be replaced more easily if it needs changing
LED really is awesome technology, I remember playing with them early on in the 90's, I think I paid £7-8 ($15?) for a single flashing 3.5V red LED lol
yeah the last few years have seen massive improvements, I am looking forward to UVB LED's becoming better value, currently $300 a pop lol
