I figured I should stop photobombing other people's threads with pictures of George. So, he finally get his own thread.
George is a white sided eastern rat snake. He was purchased from Pet Supplies Plus on July 12, 2013.. I thought he was too cool to ignore, so I asked to see him close up. He had been "labeled" by the employees as being aggressive and nobody wanted him. The bravest of the employees reluctantly opened the cage and LITERALLY started poking him with his finger. Of course the snake jumped and tried to retreat. The guy jumped as well. I told him forget it, kinda squeezed myself between him and the cage. I reached in, scooped George up, and looked him over. He looked great, no outward health issues.
The employees were shocked that I got him right out and that he was fine. He was a little "head shy" but other than that he was fine. Damn people poking at him. What do they expect.
He's actually only struck at me one time, and it was totally my fault because I startled him. I thought he was awake, but he wasn't, then I went to get him and he reached "over his shoulder" toward me. Then he looked up at me, started tongue flicking and coming closer until he crawled over my hand.

We found out later that he came from the Bells of Reptile Industries in Florida. We've exchanged many emails and I've spoken with them on the phone several times. They are great people and I HIGHLY recommend them.
George was hatched in July of 2012

I'll trade you! We FINALLY got rain here in California, but it was WARM. I'm the type to loathe anything over 60F, so I am miserable over here haha

He is beautiful. Hard to believe no one wanted him. He looks pinkish but in some photos doesn't. I can't wait to see him in the natural light.
