Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
not sure how the glazing process works, but it might look neat if you could glaze just the shell, and leave the legs and head more 'rough'? would be neat to see you tackle a sea turtle!!!

Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
Really like it!! It's adorable, one of the best yet! I think i would like the leaf a darker green, but that's just my personal preference

Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
Thank Starbuck that might just work! Also I will definitely add sea turtle to my list of things to try!!!
Thanks Tsubaki! I found a really cool way to make lettuce leaves but they are horrible 'food' items so I figured it would be best if I just make a general leaf. I keep the darker color in mind

Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
that is great.
reminds me of our old tortoise turbo. We moved into an apartment years ago and donated him to a reptile organization that specialized in childrens programs.

Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
watching tortoises eat, should be a cure for depression or a sad day..they literally just go for the absolute biggest bite that they can imagine to fit into their mouths, cracks me up!
But that is some great stuff Val! Cute little buggers

Re: First tortoise, enjoying a treat (clay)
I glazed him finally, I decided to do all of him and keep the left plain so as not to take away from the main part.
I really love him, I can't wait to tackle more both torts and turts. Thanks for looking everyone! I'm working on some new stuff, hope to post them soon.
