Boa Behaviour Question

My Sunglow girl has been home for a few days now and I noticed some strange behaviour (or it may just be normal for a Boa). She likes to rest against the sides or the glass with a good portion of her body upright. I read somewhere about 'star gazing' with relates to a disease, is this normal for Boa's to act this way? The temps are fine, but the shelf she likes to sit on does reach a higher temperature as the heat rises.

I've not found her cooling off in the water so I don't think its too hot, hot spot is around 92f with the cooler end 80f, humidity is ok between 50/60.

She also won't use a hide, she's got three but has never been in one

Also I noticed her tongue tends to curl down 180 degrees when flicking?

She's vary inquisitive, not lethargic or anything. As she is my first Boa I just wanted to make sure she's ok?

I don't, but I'll try and take one when she does it today.

Re: Boa Behaviour Question

Ive not kept boas, but generally stargazing would occur without to use of a tank wall (everyb time). It would seem uncontrolled, and variable amounts of elevation (sometimes greater than 90 degrees past vertical, sometimes less). Pictures would help, but double check all your parameters...

Ive had a good look at the temperatures taken reading from sensors in the tank and with a laser thermometer:

Hot Spot reading 96F
Bedding under bulb 91.4
Cool side 80.1f
Hide roof under bulb 101f
Cool hide roof 85f
Shelf floor 96f
Humidity 50

To me these seem fine.........?

She's not done it yet today so no pics to show
