New GTP set up.
So I picked up a new gtp that I should be getting in a couple weeks. So I'm modifying a 18x18x24. I took the screen top off and aquarium siliconed a piece of plexi to the top. Then attached a rhp to the top. Put 2 sets of closet rod holders to the sides and am using 1 inch PVC as perches. Siliconed the thermostat cord to the rhp. Going to use eco earth and hang vines and fake plants to make some hiding spots. Any observations/tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: New GTP set up.
Looking good, set up looks very nice customized(with the plexi top and RHP).
I know some people attach the probe to the rhp but you can always just zip-tie the probe to the highest perch as well, and just set it to ie. 85f. Either way works, but with your method, if the room gets too cold the RHP might overheat the hotspot.

Re: New GTP set up.
Looks good! I would add some narrower perches just so it has some options and lots of cover

Re: New GTP set up.
That is one thing I was curious about was the 1 inch perches if they were to big or needed a little smaller.

Re: New GTP set up.
I would get some of that jungle vine stuff zilla makes they have a few different sizes and I would secure it to the perches. If they're too big the snake won't be comfortable and won't perch. Thats what I found anyway.

I second the jungle vine. You could do criss cross patterns so your gtp can move more comfortably between the two pvc perches.

Re: New GTP set up.
I was told to use much smaller perches...and that clear tanks were bad for a youngster...I was advised to cover the back and sides...

A good option would be plants with suction cups if you don't want to cover the sides with paper

Re: New GTP set up.
True...I put a couple in my tub even. Want to make sure it feels secure.

Re: New GTP set up.
I would use silicone to adhere the suction cups. Just in case the snake climbs up and pulls it down.
I use aquarium safe silicone

Re: New GTP set up.
Plus with humidity they tend to fall on their own...found that out...glad the snake wasn't in there yet...
