Terrarium Art Enclosures

Has anyone ever bought an enclosures from Terrarium Art (Justin Tanner)? Terrarium Art

I saw them at Repticon in Phoenix last year and thought they were beautiful. I forgot about them until I found this picture with someone keeping their hognose in one.

I am considering buying one or two for my hognoses, however, I have a few concerns about them.

First, the only heat source is from the lamp up top. I have only ever used a UTH for my snakes and I am not sure if the lamp would be appropriate/sufficient for heat. There does't seem to be anywhere to put a UTH.

Second, the main hide at the bottom is open at the front. Does this take away the security of the hide for the snake? I could add more plants up top for cover but I am not sure if this would be enough.

If anyone has any opinions about these enclosures I would be grateful to hear them.

They also have ones like this with more cover, of course I will have to find out if they make the proper size for a hognose since this one seems rather small.

Looks nice, but inconvenient for my personal use. Wouldn't be able to stack them, and I don't know if he makes them big enough for the snakes I keep.

But for smaller species like hognose snakes that looks very nice. A great piece of art/display.

I don't think the heat lamp would be bad for low humidity requiring species, and heat lamps are more efficient at heating ambient temps than heat mats...so you shouldn't have a problem.

These really look awesome, and seem to be very well thought out for the well-being of the animal. I've seen them at the Denver shows, and the decor is nicely done. You can even get them with built-in recirculating waterfalls. My only problem with them is that I think they would be a pain to keep clean, and even though they come is many sizes they are probably best suited to smaller critters. Arrow frogs, geckos, or smaller arboreal snakes would be ideal.

I don't know if they are easy to use, but they sure look pretty!

Thanks for the input everyone. My only concern now is if they make them big enough for a n adult hognose. I contacted the owner so hopefully I will find out soon.
They do look difficult to clean but since I am only planning on getting one (maybe two) I am willing to spend some extra time cleaning them.
