Collared Lizard - Concerning Black Coloration on Body

Hello all,

I have a Great Basin (desert) Collared Lizard. I noticed some black coloration on the underside of his chin and have no idea what it is/if it should be of concern.

I've had the lizard for close to a month now, and honestly I can't remember if he had the marks i'm seeing already or not. Under his chin, he has some dark coloring, also I noticed it on his thighs slightly, where his leg meets his belly on the skin. (couldn't get a pic)

He seems to be very healthy. He just had a nice shed recently and am just waiting on the tail. Gave him his second bath and most of it just fell off on his tail. His eyes are clear, mouth pink, and very active!

Conditions seem to be great. Warm side of high 80's, Humidity is between 23-30% with a basking spot of around 102 degrees via bulb and 109-115 via UTH. Hides on both ends with some climbing drift wood and water bowl. Chowing on gut loaded crickets, mealworms and occasionally waxworms. Pooping frequently and seemingly healthy, first was a little runny, now they look great (as great as poop can look I guess.. )

I think thats about it. Should I be worrying/ change something? or is it just his skin color. Thought I'd rather post here and be safe than sorry.

Thanks for any input.

They are! Little flighty but sure does have a great personality! Its funny how this one (And probably Collareds in general) will jump to the top of your head and sit there if you take him out of the cage!

That is so true! all of mine leaped to the top of my head when taking them out to explore! They have to have the highest possible vantage point! lol
