drooling blood

This was another rescue. The lady said she had 4 Blood Pythons and she wasn't sure what the other snake was. The Bloods are suppose to be 3 male and 1 female, all hets for something, but I did not listen. If the are going to be bred then they will have a surprise when the babies are born. Here is what I picked up.
Blood 1

Blood 2

Blood 3 This one is the only one that needs to be fattened up.

Blood 4

And the unknown snake was a Hog Island Boa

I titled this drooling blood, because I was drooling over the beautiful snakes they were giving up.

All the snake are for adoption, but I do not ship, they must be picked up. The Hog Island Boa I am keeping for myself to add to our shows.

Re: drooling blood

All look to be in pretty good health. All are robust and not obese.

The third "blood" I would question it's lineage. It looks similar to borneo short tail pythons.

I was thinking the same thing. Either way, amazing catch! Somebody's gonna scoop those up quick I'm sure.

It is possible, but in the pet trade Borneo Short Tails are sometimes still called Bloods. Kind a like a common Boa being called a Red Tail.

Re: drooling blood

At first when I read the title of this thread, I thought it was gonna be about a snake actually drooling blood lol.

I love blood pythons. They're one of my favorite python species. Those specimens are gorgeous. Good luck finding them new homes!

I know. It isn't necessarily common knowledge yet. I thought I'd just mention it for those reading.

I never know what to call things. At my job we got in a Short Tail and it was labeled Blood Python. When I mentioned it was a Short Tail, I was told not to be so picky. I guess that is why we use Latin names, to actually ID the snake correctly. Although as I can't speak Latin, I can never pronounce the names correctly. LOL
