Update on my rescued BCC
This big guy came in to the local adoption ctr about 2 weeks ago, the owner said he was aggressive and nasty. I ended up taking him home.
I figured the original owner was not interested in caring for him anymore and probably did a poor job to begin with. He came to the centre without any temp or humidity measuring equipment, a very inadequate lamp, no heat mat, a small waterbowl. Kinda pathetic, tbh.
Since I got all the temps, humidity and other requirements up to par after taking him home, he settled in great after a few days, seemed much happier, I fed him, he has been nothing but the sweetest fella I've ever met. No trouble at all. Had him out about 4 times now. He's a very well-behaved boy.
So here he is, dressed up in his Sunday best.

How did you determine it was a bcc?

Pretty obvious when you have a good look at him in person.
Saddles: less than 15 from neck to tail, some are peaked, cherry red tail etc, the photos make him look darker and less impressive. He is close to a shed cycle in these pics. He has a gorgeous purpling to his sides that I have seen in several guyanas.
The animal surrender forms that the previous owner filled out claimed he was a guyana locality BCC. Kind of confirmed my suspicions. However, I don't think he's pure. Most likely 75% BCC. That would be my guess.
Still a looker though.

Re: Update on my rescued BCC
Very obviously BCC. Look at the head shape alone, and that tail. If no pure its definitely more than 50% BCC.
Korbin is right though I wouldn't be surprised if he had something else in him, nothings pure now a days. Regardless he looks pure and you should enjoy him for that. And he's drop dead gorgeous ! Lol
