Marines drinking cobra blood..

Wtf is going on here? Do you think they defanged or sewed this cobra? It looks like the dude should have been bit. And why the hell is he having them hold it by the tail and bounce it. Was he trying to get one of them bit? Not sure what the point of this was...was he giving them some sort of handling class? Why do they all have their phones on a field exercise......

Re: Marines drinking cobra blood..

So am I supposed to have more or less "respect" for our troops after seeing this?

That whole group is about the dumbest batch of wank stains ever.

Those kids have automatic weapons?? scary...

Re: Marines drinking cobra blood..

While I agree it looked like a pretty stupid thing to do, as a former Marine, I could see the guys getting together to go see a demonstration with live cobras and then agreeing to drink some of its blood just to say that they did it. Believe me, group think can be a very powerful influence, usually to do some very stupid things. Don’t judge them too harshly. When you’re totally immersed in a different culture or environment (i.e. combat zone), it changes your perspective pretty quickly and people will do things that they would never even consider doing when back home. These are the same men and women that willingly lay their lives on the line for us back here at home so that we’re free enjoy our lives, raise our pet snakes and watch YouTube videos. On another note, not long ago I watched a program where a man drank cobra blood as part of a traditional Vietnamese “feast” hosted by his brother who never left Vietnam after the war. When the man returned to the United States, he ended up almost dying from the parasites he contracted from the snake. Hopefully that will not be the case with any of our Marines even if it wasn’t the smartest thing in the world to partake it. Just one man’s opinion…

Re: Marines drinking cobra blood..

I was referring to the stupidity of the handling, not anything against the Marines. Maybe the local told them "This is a safe way to hold a cobra and not get bit"

Cobra blood seems to be a big culture thing over there, plenty more videos on it. Looks like they cook EVERY part of the cobra in restraints, make the blood into alcoholic drinks and such. If that's their culture whatever...

Just curious if anyone though it was a loaded hot or if it had been sewn or something. And how this was an exercise. Seems more like a "oh cool look what I did" side act, or cultural thing (?) rather than an actual training...
