Forgot about herptek. That's basically the same as vision(just different companies).

Re: best vivs for hots

have you ever used exo terra?? i know about the mesh lid so would a perspex cover work to stop the hot from 'biting' through through the mesh??

Re: best vivs for hots

I don't think a snake can bite through perspex(the fangs would probably break) so that could work well.

I've used exo-terra but I'm just not a fan of all-around glass enclosures for a few reasons. You can create the proper environment in a glass cage but it's just heavy, easy to crack/scratch, not stackable, transparent on all sides...etc.

If I was to house a hot I would most definitely go with plastic cages with sliding doors.(ie. vision)

Just a warning Vision cages can have a small gap between the two sliding doors that may need to be addressed if you plan on having small hots in there. Also there is an annoying lip all the way around the door that they can climb into and hide.

Re: best vivs for hots

People have rccomended a bead of silicon, weather stripping, anything like that. I just used a length of paper towel rolled up and stuffed tight. It is barely visible and can be removed.

Re: best vivs for hots

Check with your local council as I believe that some make you have double doors on the viv to get your DWAL
