as it says above i'm looking into getting some hots nothing fancy couple of naja's (1 spitter), crotalus, bitis, bothriechis and some agkistrodon so whats the best vivs for the set species of venomous snake and if you have any of these set species could you post up some pics of your vivs so that i can get a rough idea on how to set them up!!....and i'm not planning on getting all of them at once their will be a year or 2 in between
no we don't but after abit of research people recommend herptek vivs and for the viperkeeper video i have watched a TON load of his videos and he is just awesome and his collection is just epic!!!!
I don't think a snake can bite through perspex(the fangs would probably break) so that could work well.
I've used exo-terra but I'm just not a fan of all-around glass enclosures for a few reasons. You can create the proper environment in a glass cage but it's just heavy, easy to crack/scratch, not stackable, transparent on all sides...etc.
If I was to house a hot I would most definitely go with plastic cages with sliding doors.(ie. vision)
Just a warning Vision cages can have a small gap between the two sliding doors that may need to be addressed if you plan on having small hots in there. Also there is an annoying lip all the way around the door that they can climb into and hide.

right i can see thats going to be a problem!!! is there any way to overcome that set problem with vision viv's the gap in the doors i can fix so that's not such a problem i don't believe it will i'm going into my reptile shop tomorrow so i'll have a word with the manager who deals with their hots!!
People have rccomended a bead of silicon, weather stripping, anything like that. I just used a length of paper towel rolled up and stuffed tight. It is barely visible and can be removed.
