Another shed!
well turbine's going into blue, again. i'm surprised, she just shed December 12th. Turbo should be soon too, he's growing like a weed, and he shed 4 days after her last time.
how often do your snakes shed?

Re: Another shed!
they shed less often as they get older. my huge male dum only sheds once every few months. maybe once a month or little longer for the female dum. i keep forgetting to write their sheds down in the feeder log.

Re: Another shed!
Get your husbandry right and you don't need to make changes like that. Your snake will be able to find the right humidity when the time calls for it.

Re: Another shed!
Have you ever tried letting them shed without using a humid hide?

Re: Another shed!
I just mist mine lightly when they are in shed and they don't even need a humid hide, clean perfect sheds everytime.

Re: Another shed!
Shouldn't need a humid hide if the setup is right anyway... How are you heating the viv? Lights or heat Matt?

That's awesome! At this rate you may win ""The most sheds in 2014" contest we're having.

I don't know i might win it this year. My Savu python as shed four times in two months. I got him to eat a larger rat three stops then he went off of feeding but still is shedding every two to three weeks. Not to mention my Argentine and Dumeril boas shed every time they eat. The tile will be mine.

heat mat. everythings right in the enclosure, i just prefer to use a humid hide. turbine loves it, and it's rough enough for them to rub up against to get the shed off.
it's my personal preference. of course i dont need it, but i like it.

Awe man, ill never catch up now. And I was really looking forward to the trophy. Well I'm still in the running for "least sheds in 2014" I've stopped feeding and instead of a bowl of water I've gone with a bowl of salt mixed with rice. Victory will be mine.
