Good Afternoon fellow herpers!
So its the first reptile show of the year tomorrow. Any suggestions on what snake I should bring home?? Difficulty of care is not a problem as I'm a reptile keeper in a zoo and have tons of experience with some of the nastiest reptiles out there. I've worked with so many snakes that I don't know what to bring home. Nothing venomous, I have enough of that fun work

That's my fallback snake haha Was hoping for something a little more unique. Love peruvian rainbows but I've never seen them at a show.

Re: Good Afternoon fellow herpers!
Welcome!
I guess my question would be, what kind of snake do you have a set up ready for?
That's the trouble with shows, gives me a bad case of the wants. Lucky I didn't have the cage space for everything I liked or I would have been in big trouble!

My problem is that I actually have 2 set ups ready. One arboreal and one terrestrial. I was so undecided that i set up one of each lol. They can hold anything under 8ft. I would love to order online but I've had a bad experience with that before, so I won't buy anything I can't look at myself

I don't have a budget for an emerald tree boa either if that helps. So suggestion has to be under $400

Re: Good Afternoon fellow herpers!
Hello , I currently have 1 Bearded dragon , she was a rescue . have had her for 3 years now and she is doing Awesome ! have been learning as i go , lucky to have a great reptile vet in our very rural area in Vermont .
On that note ... someone on a facebook page brought up bio-active substrate and that discussion got me very interested to learn more . Is it something that would benefit my girl ? is it safe for her ? how would i go about getting started ? any and all info would be greatly appreciated

Re: Good Afternoon fellow herpers!
Would you be able to save up for an emerald tree boa? Some would be worth waiting a bit for(so you can save up and buy what you really want).
If not that, then how about a GTP or Carpet Python? Or amazon tree boa?
