Found a baby snake earlier today.

Hi guys, im a newbie here.
Just registered a minute ago.. haha.

Im also new to all these reptiles
thingy.. Just moved over from
Singapore (reptiles-banned country)
to Malaysia (Johor Bahru)...

Im loving it here. I can observe,
touch, play around, and/or even
rent any reptiles for free from the
petshops near my house!!

But sadly i cant own any as
my house owner restrict me
from havin any reptiles at home.

Earlier today, in the early morning
of this brand new year, God dropped me
a baby snake that curled up on my
feet while i was waiting for cars to
clear off the road before crossing
over.. I was soooooo happy coz
ive been wanting to own a snake..
but yet i was also curious whether it
was a venomous one... hmmm.

I was a lil bit scared to pull it off
as it looks like it may bite, so i took
a twig and poke it gently & repeatedly
until it dropped off.. took out my
water bottle and shove the baby
snake inside...

Not sure whether it is poisonous
and i really wanna know what
snake is this.. I googled it but cant
seem to find the most suitable answer.

Its a black snake with multiple gold
stripes running parallel to its body..
It also have tiny white patches on the
front and back of each eyes.. Ive attached
a pic, do take a look

It could be a Northern Ribbonsnake,
Fork-marked Sand Snake, Namib
Sand Snake, Jalla's Sand Snake,
Montane Grass Snake, or even a
Rhombic Skaapsteker... can anyone
help me?

Re: Found a baby snake earlier today.

Maybe a
Dendrelaphis caudolineatus

Though the head markings don't look right.

definitely not a garter... I can't help you on what it is; but based on your location alone i say not a garter.

Re: Found a baby snake earlier today.

Striped keelback snake. Xenochrophis vittatus

Mildly venomous, rear fang colubrid. Harmless to humans, no documented fatalities.
