Good sling setup?

LLLreptile has a sale and i want a grammostola pulchripes and theirs are 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inch and this cage is 8 inches long is it to big? Their is tape over it to keep in humidity and it stays 70-72 degrees in my room. I would be feeding baby dubia roaches. Am i ready or what needs to change thanks

Re: Good sling setup?

Looks pretty good, what is your plan for a water dish? I recommend a bottle cap from a water bottle.

No its not too big. Get rid of the tape though -- high humidity is not needed nor desirable.

Re: Good sling setup?

Looks fine. Tarantulas feel secure in smaller cages. I wouldn't worry about humidity too much. I spray twice a week. I avoid water dishes of any sort with slings. I will spray one spot of the cage pretty well to allow them to drink if needed. A lot of there water comes from there food item.
