Feeding live today...

So my IJ hasn't been eating, and she has lost a lot of weight. So I messaged a reptile shop (they're really knowledgeable and nice and I love going into that shop.) and they said since she has lost weight, that we should try a live small adult rat. My dad is stopping to pick one up tonight....let's see how this goes. Pics/update later.

Re: Feeding live today...

Before you do that I would talk to a few Python people on here. Terranaut and a bunch of other have a lot of experience with these snakes.

All of my experience is with Boas, I have very little with Pythons although a lot of techniques will cross over.

Yeah, I've tried braining and scenting as well with her f/t but nothing has worked. My dad is the one way more worried than I am, he's going through the measures to get a live rat which he hates with a strong passion. :P

Re: Feeding live today...

My Cal King didn't eat for 9 weeks before I finally tried a live hopper mouse last week which he devoured. Now I'm hoping we can get him back on the f/t routine. Best wishes with your IJ.

Re: Feeding live today...

take a picture of your irian next to something like a sky tv remote.....

then we can give opinions on if she's too skinny or not.....

carpets are lean muscular snakes

what age is your irian ?

most mine go off their food during breeding season
