Exclamation My snake escaped!!!

My snake got out a couple of days ago and i checked everywhere we have 2 cats and we have heat duct vents with plastic covering. I have placed plastic bottle pinkie traps and nothings worked how long can he live with out food or water without moving around. I dont know what im going to do i might stop doing reptiles after my dream snake disappeared.

Double check everything in the enclosure. Especially log hides if you have them. These guys are very good at hiding.

Look everywhere that's warm, most likely near a warm spot. I hope you find him! He's an awesome lookin lil dude! And do what sharthun said, I thought I lost my king once just to find her at the top inside of her tree

Re: My snake escaped!!!

snakes are clever...they will find condensation to drink...as for food, it depends on the species and age...most snakes can go months without food...Perri was missing for a month and looked quite healthy when she showed up, and she was only a 6-7 month old corn snake....pretty small...maybe 16 inches long?

Re: My snake escaped!!!

How would he even escape? That's a sliding lid, my guess is he is tucked away somewhere inside the enclosure. Maybe inside the ridges in one of his hides or burrowing inside the substrate.

Re: My snake escaped!!!

Try taking out all the hides, triple quadruple check em all, then start moving the substrate around and remove some if necessary. Sometimes I have troubles finding my juvenile garter when she burrows in the substrate

Re: My snake escaped!!!

I should also add that when you take the hides out, put them in a tub with a lid just i case you happen to miss him and slithers out.
