Today Was Feeding Day...

...and today started of quite slowly. First, I tossed Medusa's rabbit in (a little bigger than normal) and she was so focused on me that she totally missed her meal go right by her. In fact, she wasn't taking it until she no longer saw us (Calvin and me). Once she was satisfied with that, she went for it. Pindari was next. When I opened his tub and tossed his Large in, he was on it. Vanessa, my bigger female Mack, was next and she was not interested and neither was Merlin, my male. It took GI Jane, my female yellow Mack, to get things started for the rest of them. The rat that Vanessa was offered was a Medium and when she refused, I took it out and offered it to Merlin. When he refused, I took it out and gave it to Poseidon, my yearling Burm. Problem was that he was supposed to get a Large, not a Medium. Count 1. Then I opened my male baby Burm, Mars' tub, and he was sticking out already so I dangled a Weaner over him which he gladly took out of my hand. Venus, my female baby Burm, was next with her Medium and she was on it. Then over to the little Macks with their Smalls. They were so intent on me, they did not see their meals get tossed right past them. I had to be very still so they would notice what they already had in their tubs. Kaa, the male CA Boa I am fostering, was on his in no time though and Sol was so eager, he struck the lid to his tub even before I opened it. As soon as his Medium was tossed in, he was on it. Big Mama is with Raegan at the moment and I forgot about that when placing my rat order. Count 2 for her Large. The yearling MBKs and Corns each took their time with their Fuzzies so I just let them be and eventually they all took their meals. Stheno, my Bloodred Stripe Corn, got her Pup right away, which was no surprise. Hellboy and Khorne both showed no interest since they were both deep in Blue. Frost, I knew would take his "Weaner" which was more like a Small. While all this was going on, Calvin finished thawing out his mice for his Kings which I am fostering until he gets moved into his new place. He proceeded to feed them and boy were they hungry! They were both on it!. Next question was what to do with 2 Large rats that were left over? I gave Poseidon one of them which he took, much to my surprise since he's in Blue. Keep in mind, he already had a Medium for his first course and now for seconds, he took a Large. Burms! Then the other went to Pindari and this time as soon as his cage was open, his head was sticking out about 6" and I knew there was no way to get him back in without that other Large so I let him take it out of my hand. It was only then that he went back in. By this time, Argus' Medium was thawed out so I pulled it out, dangled it by the tail in front of her and she was on it in no time! Recap, Vanessa and Merlin refused their meals, sheds suspected, but their refusals went to other snakes. Hellboy and Khorne refused as well, definite sheds and their meals are left over to be kept alive until next week.
